Mint Condition

A quick post from today's fun mint outfit.
I am loving American Apparel's new mint colorway, it's just so perfect for Spring!  When I purchased this outfit I was planning on doing more of a fun shoot for this outfit but haven't had too much extra time and also couldn't resist wearing this to class today so we just thought I'd snap these few photos because I'm too smitten with this outfit not to at least share this little peek.

Swoon Worthy Free People

I'm just swooning over Free People's second short film 'Roshambo : Rock' !  The music, the cinematography, the clothes, it's perfection so I had to share. Take a look!

I've also found myself even more smitten than usual (if that's even possible) with any and every lacey dress or slip that I feast my eyes on.  I've got quite the collection going now but it is incomplete without these Free People pieces I'm dying to get my hands on!  I'd style these pieces with more of a vintage twist of course and lately have been sticking to a messy side bun for my hair because it's just so easy and effortlessly lovely looking.  Plus, these would make for the perfect, romantic layering pieces to wear when I head to Europe in the late Winter!

Blustery Winds

Sunday morning in SLO started with coffee at our favorite spot (Black Horse) and then continued with a visit to one of our favorite parks in the area where we saw our amazing barn owl friends who live in this cute little owl house.  We were so happily surprised they were still living there as it had been almost a year since we were last there and lase saw them when they were babies!
After a while it became so windy it was almost painful, so it was difficult to try and look nice for any photos of myself, but I did get some nice photos of this park and after the park we drove down a nice open road and stumbled upon a beautiful field of horses.  So though the wind was quite the monster, it was such a beautiful day and the perfect end to our short weekend trip.

I'll start this post with some instagram photos, then some digital, and finally some 35mm film and Polaroids.  Three cameras, 3 formats - totally necessary for a lovely weekend away.
And here are some photos I took on a vintage 35mm Cannon camera I was given as a gift this past week.  This roll of film had been in the camera for over a decade and had 10 frames left so I took full advantage of that and finished it up.  These photos are not retouched in any way, which is so amazing; the colors, the contrast, I just love shooting in film!  And I mean, I am certainly no real photographer, but ever since I got my Diana 120 camera a few years ago I've been hooked and am always so excited every time I get a new (old) functioning film camera to shoot with and turn in my first batch of film from it.

All Dolled Up

No weekend trip to SLO is complete without a visit to the Madonna Inn.
My sister and her husband swing dance there every single weekend so it's so lovely to watch them do what they love, and it also helps that they are super amazing amazing dancers have quite the fan-base there!
I also love the totally tacky, quirkiness of the atmosphere and it is just so much fun to get ridiculously dressed up for a fun evening visit there listening to the band play some awesome music while watching my sister and brother in law lindy hop and swing dance across the dance floor while eating pink champagne cake!
(please excuse the slight blurriness of these, my camera and my sister taking photos had some issues ha)

Croquet & A Picnic

The mister & I took a little weekend trip up to SLO this past weekend to visit my sister and had such a lovely time.  The short hour and a half drive up North was quite enjoyable as it was nice and gloomy, totally our kind of weather.  But actually, I always enjoy being in the car and going on road trips long or short!
We started our day in SLO with a picnic at the park followed by a game of croquet! (I won by the way!)
After croquet we spent the rest of the afternoon thrifting and then headed to their house to get dolled up for the Madonna Inn!
p.s These amazing white 1940's shoes from my sister's collection will be for sell on my etsy soon!

Lately

I feel like every time I write a new post I always start with how I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while due to the crazy business of my life...this post is no different.  I really haven't been posting as much as I should because school, work, and life is just a whirlwind of business, but this semester at school is over soon and I will have a bit more time to catch up on things!
I'm planning an etsy update real soon which will also include a ton of items from my sister's vintage collection of a tad bit larger sized vintage clothing and amazing 1940's shoes.
And, I am so excited to share that in July, you'll be able to find me at the Rose Bowl Flea Market!  Details on that will come as the date nears.
Anyways, here are just a few photos of a little casual adventure from a few weeks ago just to let you all know I'm still here!  Spring is in full bloom and we took full advantage of this and with 3 cameras in tow.
